摘要

A new species of the genus Mexipyrgus Taylor, 1966 (Caenogastropoda: Truncatelloidea: Cochliopidae) is described from two Holocene springs in Viesca, Coahuila, Mexico. Previously, only one species was known in this genus, Mexipyrgus carranzae Taylor, from freshwater springs and streams in the Cuatrocienegas Valley in Coahuila, Mexico. Similar to the extant species, the shells of Mexipyrgus viescaensis new species show a high level of morphological variability.
