(meso-Tetrakis(2,6-dichlorophenyl) porphyrin) manganese chloride and carbonyl ruthenium meso-tetrakis (2,6-dichlorophenyl)porphyrin were prepared and used to catalyze the diastereoselective epoxidation and amidation of 3beta-substituted Delta(5)-steroid derivatives.
