摘要

The purpose of this research was to compare and evaluate the effect of fluoride (F) in the fourth instar molting stage of T6 and 734 strains of the silkworm, Bombyx mori, fed mulberry leaves treated with 200 ppm NaF. Body weight was significantly lower, and mortality was higher in the F-exposed 734 strain than in the F-exposed T6 strain and in the controls (p<0.01). Assay of F in the fecal litter indicated the existence of two crucial differences in the physiological pathways for resistance of the T6 strain to F. Apparently the head of the T6 silkworm is much less susceptible to F, and excretion by the malpighian tubule is another significant way for it to resist F intoxication.
