摘要

Since 1993, China has been the world's largest potato producer in terms of the total yield and planning area. Potato average consumption in China is about 14 kg/person, which is about the same level as that of Asian and developing countries, while remaining only half of the world's average level and less than 1/5 that of the developed countries. Shortened cycle combined with efficient micro- and mini-tuber multiplication ensure a high quality of seed tubers. The potato planting area in China has increased by 1.5 million ha in the past 10 years. Chinese potatoes are exported to several countries of Southeast Asia, where production is difficult but consumption high.
