摘要

Little research has been conducted on the effects of what a person wears or does not wear on data accuracy and reliability for 3D body scanning studies. The purpose of this study was to compare scan data collected from a participant wearing a scan garment over her own bra and underpants to scan data collected from the same participant wearing only her bra and underpants. Thirty-two participants were scanned with a body scanner: first, in the scan garment and second, in their undergarments. We examined fourteen measurements of the torso area. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and paired t-tests to compare measurement differences between the two scans. The results showed that the scan garment significantly affected the body scan data. Most of the body measurements were larger when collected while the participant was wearing undergarment only. The measurements in the bust area were found to be most affected.
