摘要

Based on the obvious strain rate effect of clay and the interrelation of dynamic mechanical properties and physical state, the paper researches the dynamic mechanical properties of compacted clay. Using the improved split Hopkinson pressure bar (SHPB) equipment, the dynamic mechanical properties of compacted clay is studied. Meanwhile, the stress balance loading test and constant strain rate loading test are used to verify the feasibility of this test. Some results are obtained. The improved SHPB experiment can be used to proceed the dynamic loading test of compacted clay;Compacted clay stress-strain curve presents four stages which are elastic stage, yield stage, densification stage and softening stage;Compared with the quasi-static stress-strain curve, the dynamic peak stress and strain of the dynamic stress-strain curve are both increased with the improvement of strain rate;The energy absorption of clay owns obvious strain rate correlation and increases exponentially with the improvement of strain rate;The influence of strain rate on dynamic strength is small when strain rate is lower than reference value, and it is large when strain rate is higher than reference value.
