摘要

As a powerful optimization approach, differential evolution algorithm has been applied to real- and binary-valued optimization problems in electromagnetics. However, for some optimization problems a vector to be optimized consists of both real and binary components. This article describes a hybrid real-binary differential evolution (RBDE) algorithm that works with real and binary values in the same vector. The proposed approach is demonstrated on designing a nonuniform antenna array and an ultrawideband antenna. Numerical experiments show that the RBDE algorithm is an effective technique.
