摘要

Quality-of-service (QoS) provisioning and node fairness assurance are indispensable in wireless mesh networks (WMNs). To increase node QoS capacity and to maintain node fairness are often conflicting, and leading naturally to a tradeoff between these two metrics. Therefore to explore the relations between them is highly desired. In this paper, we propose a node fairness metric and a normal optimization formulation to obtain optimal relationship between node QoS capacity and node fairness based on cross-layer design and vertical QoS mapping technology. Through numerical examples, we validate the node fairness metric and analyze the tradeoff between node QoS capacity and node fairness.
