摘要

The goal of tone mapping is to produce visibility and the overall impression of brightness, contrast, and color of a given high dynamic range image without color distortion as mapped onto a relatively low dynamic range display or printer based on the human visual perception. Accordingly, this article presents the tone mapping method composed of the tone mapping operator to enhance the contrast as well as to compress the dynamic range and chromatic adaptation transform to deal with mismatch between real-life scene and displayed image based on the modified CMCCAT2000 using CIE XYZ tristimulus value. In the proposed tone mapping operator, the combination of the key value of scene and visual gamma is used to improve the contrast in the entire resulting image as well as to scale the dynamic range using input luminance value, simultaneously. Here, input luminance value is obtained by using the geometric mean of the given image based on the logarithmic function to represent the detailed information in the given HDR image. The resulting image is then processed through the chromatic adaptation transform and emphasis lies in human visual perception. The main contribution of the proposed method is to overcome several problems such as luminance shift and hue shift increasing the colorfulness while reproducing the color in the entire resulting image. The experiment results show that the proposed method yields better performance of the color rendering over the conventional method in subjective and quantitative quality and color reproduction.
