In this study, the genetic relationship between T durum, T aestivum, T dicoccoides and T urartu was estimated by using Amplified Fragment Length Polymorphism (AFLP) markers. EcoRI and MeI were the selective primers used with one nucleotide extention on the 3' end. The number of unique markers per genotype ranged from 1 to 17, the highest one was revealed by T dicoccoides while the lowest one by T durum. The relationship between the wheat varieties was obtained. The 11 AFLP primer combinations amplified 657 AFLP loci of which 594 (90.4%) were polymorphic. Based on cluster analysis the most distant two cultivars are Senaljamal (Sc) (T durum) and UI (T warm), and the closest two are Bosiedi (Bo) and Aiubieh (Ai).
