摘要

Information about treatment and decision-making in oncology are at the centre of interdisciplinary studies in medical ethics. In this paper the models of paternalistic, informative, interpretative and deliberative physician-patient relationships will be presented with a focus on patient information and treatment decision-making. The models will be distinguished according to ethically relevant criteria. In the second part selected empirical data on context and preferences of patients regarding information and participation in decision-making will be presented. Practical aspects of information and treatment decision-making for patients with incurable cancer and the training of the ethical and communicative competences necessary for professional conduct of these physician-patient interactions are the main theme of the final part of this paper.
