The title complex molecule, [Cu(NO3)(2)(C4H6N2)(2)(H2O)], has crystallographically imposed twofold symmetry. The Cu-II atom displays a distorted square-pyramidal CuN2O3 coordination geometry. In the crystal, intermolecular O-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds between the coordinated water molecule and the nitrate anions form chains parallel to the c axis.
