摘要

The overpressure for nucleation of droplets in vapours is determined as a function of the supersaturation ratio when both fluid phases obey the Redlich-Kwong equation of state. As required by Gibbs nucleation theory, the work for homogeneous nucleation of the droplets is calculated with the aid of the overpressure. It is found that this work is considerably lower than that resulting from using the supersaturation ratio in the corresponding formula of the classical nucleation theory.
