摘要

This work presents the application of hybrid bacterial foraging algorithm to solve congestion management problem in restructured power system. The open access market environment makes the power system operation as more complicated one. The more emerging problem in the recent research is congestion management problem which requires to be analyzed to supply power to the consumers in most reliable manner. In this paper we have tried to remove the congestion in the transmission line by generation rescheduling with the cost involved in the rescheduling process should be minimized. The objective function for hybrid bacterial foraging-differential evolution (HBFDE) optimization algorithm is considered the minimization minimization of the congestion cost. The results are also compared with the genetic algorithm (GA), simple bacterial foraging (SBF) algorithm and traditional method using MATPOWER. Numerical results for the standard IEEE 30 bus system having six generating units have been presented to demonstrate the performance of the algorithm.
