摘要

The electro-oxidation of dimethoxymethane (DMM) at carbon-supported Pt nanoparticles was studied, and the effects of solution convection, specific anion adsorption, and DMM concentration were investigated. Methyl formate (ME) and CO(2) were observed as products using differential electrochemical mass spectrometry (DEMS), and MF was found to be the more prevalent of the two under all conditions tested. Isotopically ((13)C) labeled DMM was synthesized, and it was shown that CO(2) was preferentially formed from the methyl carbons of DMM using both DEMS and in situ Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy.
