摘要

Paired-cell Overlapping Loops of Cards with Authorization (POLCA) system is an effective production and materials flow control mechanisms (PMFC) for Quick Response Manufacturing (QRM).We construct a novel nonlinear mathematical programming formulation for POLCA system by means of deeper discussion of POLCA mechanism and finer division of time. The number of cards operating on every pair of cells is determined by the new model for POLCA system. And according to the analysis of POLCA operational mechanism, a new theorem and an updated algorithm is respectively presented to simplify model and does the feasibility test. The results of numerical example show that the new model and method are reasonable and valid.
