摘要

Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is currently an important health problem since it affects 3-5% of the child population. Its genesis is complex but it seems clear that there is involvement of the cerebral dopaminergic and noradrenergic systems with a very significant genetic component. The three core symptoms of ADHD from the clinical point of view are hyperactivity, inattention and impulsivity. These symptoms are accompanied by comorbid conditions in over 50% of the cases, oppositional defiant disorder standing out among them. Its diagnosis is clinical using the DSM-IV and ICD-10 criteria, neuroimaging and neurophysiological tests not being necessary in the beginning. It must be treated with an adequate combination of pharmacotherapy, psychotherapy and intervention on the school and family level.
