Luminescence property of ZnAl2O4:Cr3+ phosphors co-doped by different cations

摘要

ZnAl2O4:Cr3+ phosphors co-doped with different valence cations were successfully prepared at 1400 degrees C by a solid-state reaction, and their phase compositions and luminescence property were studied respectively by X-ray diffraction (XRD), photoluminescence spectra, and decay curves. The results showed that alkaline metal or alkaline earth cations with a lower valence can improve both fluorescence and phosphorescence properties by adjusting the substructure around Cr3+ and changing its local crystal field symmetry, whereas B3+ and Si4+ ions with higher valences can affect the framework of aluminates, their afterglow performance depends on cation species though both of their fluorescence can be slightly improved.
