摘要

A time-domain synchronous OFDM (TDS-OFDM) system with a binary all pass (BAP) sequence as the guard interval padding was developed to achieve simple accurate channel estimation based upon the principle of time/frequency duality. Guard interval padding with the Legendre sequence or its inverse discrete Fourier transform (IDFT) is used to achieve better aperiodic auto-correlation. The low complexity time-domain correlation can be used to improve synchronization at the receiver, with the low complexity channel estimate obtained using an FFT-aided periodic cross-correlation or discrete Fourier transform (DFT) with an arithmetic Fourier transform (AFT). The scheme gives more accurate channel estimates without any change of the system architecture. Simulations show that the scheme gives a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) improvement of about 0.4 dB over a frequency-selective fading channel compared with PN sequence padding.
