摘要

Hypoglossal nerve stimulation with an activated implanted device does not awaken individuals from sleep once they have acclimated to the new sensation of the resulting tongue movement. This case report illustrates the importance of an acclimation period, allowing a patient to become accustomed to stimulation settings below the level at which there is gross tongue movement.
