摘要

Most of current research on topology fault-tolerance of wireless sensor networks doesn't consider the influence of cascading failures to the topology fault-tolerant ability; as a result, the proposed metrics of topology fault-tolerance don't match reality. Therefore, to the cascading failures in wireless sensor networks, we analysis the restricted relations between node load and capacity, as well as node load and energy consumption, then build the model of cascading failures. Ultimately a metric of topology fault-tolerance based on cascading failures for wireless sensor networks is proposed and verified. Three typical fault-tolerance topologies a¸łscale-free topology (SF-m), plane k-connected topology (FLSS-k) and k-connected dominating topology (k-CDS) are studied based on this metric, and then the effects of topology structure on network load distribution, energy consumption as well as network availability are researched. The results show that the more homogeneous topology is, cascading failure occurs more hardly, topology fault-tolerance is also better.
