A new element for plate-truss composite bridge

摘要

Currently, composite beams have been investigated by many researchers while few research refers to the plate-truss composite bridge. Based on the platform of ANSYS, a new element is presented for plate-truss composite bridge by using user programmable features (UPFs) of ANSYS in this paper. By means of constructing the displacement mode of new element where shear lag effect is taken into consideration for deriving the stiffness matrix of the new element, and two examples are given to illustrate the validity and correctness of the new element. In addition to considering the shear lag effect and meeting the computational accuracy requirements, the advantage of this element can also save memory and improve the speed of operation procedures.
