摘要

This work describes the alteration in the activities of a range of ROS-scavenging enzymes and nonenzymatic antioxidants in the oxidative stress-sensitive mutant loh2 and oxidative stress-tolerant mutants atr7 and atr9 exposed to paraquat. The activities of superoxide dismutase, catalase, glutathione reductase and glutathione-S-transferase were assayed, as well as the levels of nonenzymatic antioxidants estimated by the FRAP and DPPH circle tests. Spraying loh2 plants with paraquat lead to formation of bleaching spots and decreased activities of ROS-scavenging enzymes and nonenzymatic antioxidants. In contrast, no cell death symptoms were observed both in atr7 and atr9 while enzyme activities and nonenzymatic antioxidants rose up or remained constant after paraquat exposure.
