Terrestrial Laser Scanning (TLS) is increasingly used for 3D measurement and inspection. TLS can offer automated and highly accuracy measurement even in situation where there is not enough light, which is excellent for the working condition of tunnels. This paper introduces the application of TLS in the inspection of a highway tunnel, including the quality analysis of overbreak/underbreak and the undulation inspection. The unwrapping of the tunnel surface provides an overall view for the tunnel surface. The inspection of tunnels based on TLS is the new trend of tunnel inspection technology, instead of conventional geodetic devices (e.g., a non-prism total station).
