A Facile Method for Preparation of Ag Nanoparticle Loaded MCM-41 and Study of Its Catalytic Activity for Reduction of 4-Nitrophenol

摘要

A simple chemical method has been reported for preparation of Ag nanoparticle (AgNP) loaded MCM-41 catalysts. This synthetic method involves in situ reduction of AgNO3 by citrate ions within the porous structure of MCM-41. The synthesized materials were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction, high resolution transmission electron microscope and N-2 adsorption-desorption surface area and pore size analyzer. The synthesized catalysts possess high surface area with regular pore structure and spherical AgNP inside the pore channels of MCM-41. Synthesized AgNP incorporated MCM-41 materials showed the enhanced catalyst activity for the reduction of 4-nitrophenol to 4-aminophenol at room temperature.
