The electroreductive intermolecular coupling of chiral alpha-imino N,N-dialkylamides derived from (S)-alpha-amino N,N-dialkylamides and aromatic aldehydes with ketones in the presence of chlorotrimethylsilane and triethylamine gave beta-amino alcohols with moderate to good (R)-stereoselectivity.
