摘要

In any organization like marketing, industrial, software, the depletion of manpower due to policy decisions is quite common. This in other words is known as attrition. Frequent recruitment is not advisable due to the cost of the same. Hence recruitment is postponed till a point called the breakdown point of total depletion beyond which the normal activities can not be continued due to shortage of manpower. This level of allowable manpower depletion is called the threshold. In this paper under the assumption that the threshold is the total of three individual components such as the normal available threshold level, the addition to manpower due to transfer of personnel from sister organizations and the extra time work of existing workers, the expected time to breakdown in other words to time to recruitment is derived using the shock model approach. Numerical illustration is also provided.
