Advanced %26quot;smart label%26quot; systems incorporating digital functions and low temperature dependence were constructed from integrated time-dependent electrochemical switches based on the lateral self-oxidation of nanoscale aluminum films. The processors are capable of controlling an integrated display without need of external power and may be used for low-cost %26quot;self-writing smart labels%26quot; such as time indicators.
