摘要
The Maugis analysis of adhesive circular contacts between spheres is repeated for the band contacts between cylinders. It is found that the same Maugis/Tabor parameter governs the transition between rigid cylinder behaviour and JKR-like behaviour, with the same critical values; however, the pull-off force is not a simple multiple of R Delta gamma as with circular contacts, but varies from T = root 8R sigma(0)Delta gamma to T = (3/4)(4 pi E* R Delta gamma(2))(1/3).
