摘要

Analytical expression of equilibrium control equation for a tension bar is used as the shape function to develop a new cable finite element. Based on the energy variation principle, the natural vibration equation of tension cable system with multiple elastic supports is derived. Then a program for estimating the tension in cables where the cable bending stiffness, end restraints and stiffness of intermediate supports are taken into account is proposed using the MATLAB computer language. Laboratory experiment and field test are presented. Through comparing the calculated results with the measured ones, the method proposed in this paper is demonstrated to be feasible and accurate.
