摘要

A data-driven dispersive method is developed to process the logging while drilling (LWD) quadrupole waveform data. A Slowness Probability Density (SPD) is first calculated from the LWD wave dispersion data and is subsequently fitted with a proper analytical function. By finding the edge of the function, the true formation shear slowness can be determined. We have applied the method to process synthetic and field LWD quadrupole wave data. The results show that the method corrects the dispersion effect in the waveform data and obtains accurate estimates of formation shear slowness.
