摘要

Intramuscular metastasis of colorectal carcinoma is rare and usually seen in patients with a previously diagnosed malignancy. The majority of colorectal cancer patients have gastrointestinal symptoms or anemia at the time of diagnosis and asymptomatic cancers usually have a better Dukes' staging. We report a colon cancer patient admitted with painfull soft tissue metastases in his thigh and chest wall. He did not experience gastrointestinal symptoms, weakness or weight loss. Needle biopsy of the thigh mass showed poorly differentiated mucinous adenocarcinoma that invaded the muscle. Abdominal computed tomography revealed a mass in the liver and irregular thickening of sigmoid colon walls, that was later diagnosed as adenocarcinoma on biopsy. The clinical presentation of a solitary soft tissue metastasis without any symptoms of the primary malignancy, as our case presented, is rare.
