摘要
A novel pattern-reconfigurable antenna is investigated for wireless application. The antenna operates over a bandwidth from 2.4 to 2.8 GHz with good impedance matching and the gain around 8 dB. Switchable driven monopole and parasitic elements are designed to provide three modes with 17 fundamental radiation patterns. The parasitic elements can be switched to be a director or a reflector by controlling the RF switch on the parasitic element. Meanwhile, the driven monopole can match different switch combinations of parasitic elements by switching its length. We investigate the antenna's impedance bandwidth and its radiation characteristics. Simulated and measured results are given, and they agree well with each other.
