The synthesis and characterization of the title Cu-II complex, [Cu-2(C11H14N2O2)(C11H15N2O2)](ClO4CH4O)-C-., is described. The reaction of salicylaldehyde and N-(2-hydroxyethyl)ethylenediamine with [Cu(ClO4)(2)](.)6H(2)O produced the binuclear Cu-II complex in which the adjacent Cu-II atoms are connected by a mu-O bridge. One of the Cu-II atoms is in an elongated square-pyramidal geometry and the other has a distorted square-planar geometry.
