Narrow linewidth Ytterbium-doped double-clad fiber laser using fiber grating as wavelength selective component

摘要

A narrow linewidth Ytterbium-doped double-clad fiber laser using fiber Bragg grating (FBG) as wavelength selective component is demonstrated. The FBG is directly fabricated in the active large-mode-area double-clad fiber, uhich results in low splicing loss and compact configuration. The center wavelength of the laser is 1060.91 nm and the 3 dB linewidth of the spectrum is 0.01 nm. The slope efficiency is 44% with the maximum output power of 3.7 W. The output power of the double-clad fiber laser is very stable and the power fluctuation is less than 1% during the measurement period. The nonlinear effects in the double-clad fiber laser based on FBG are greatly restrained compared with that in the fiber laser using fiber end as frequency selective component.
