摘要

A polarization splitter based on dual-core square-lattice ZnTe glass photonic crystal fiber has been designed and simulated by finite element method. The numerical results reveal that extinction ratio ERA = -92.16 dB and ERB = -29.56 dB at the communication wavelength 1.55 mu m, and the splitter with fiber length of 1.1452 mm provides bandwidths with extinction ratio better than -20 dB about 100 nm for x-polarization mode and 45 nm for y-polarization mode, respectively. At the communication wavelength 1.55 mu m, insertion loss is 4: 8 x 10(-3) dB for x-polarization mode and 2: 6 x 10(-9) dB for y-polarization mode respectively. We also compared the characteristics of ZnTe glass with those of silica glass.
