摘要

We have proposed a terahertz metamaterials resonator that consists of a pair of split ring resonators (SRRs) and can be utilized as a refractive-based-sensor. Supporting simulations indicate the resonant Q value is up to 90 and a refractive sensitivity of 61.7 GHz/RIU, figure of merit value of 10.74, correspondingly. Resonator sample of the "connected SRR" has been fabricated and measured using a terahertz time-domain spectroscopy system, the transmission characteristics of which are consistent basically with the finite difference time domain simulations.
