摘要

An idealized geometric model of ceramic foams is constructed based on the Weaire-Phelan skeleton model. A correlation equation between volume-averaged Nusselt number and Reynolds number is presented with the periodic boundary conditions, Nud = 0.26Red3×10(-4)a(1)+0.61 which can be used in the macroscopic thermal non-equilibrium modeling for porous media. Simulation results show that both the pressure drop and the convection heat transfer are not susceptible to the mainstream direction, and the specific area is the dominant factor affecting the heat transfer in turbulent flows. The pressure drop computed in this study showed a good agreement with those obtained by the experimental correlations at the pore level from the literature. The modified Ergun equation and Richardson relationship are recommended for calculating the pressure drop compared with other correlations.
