摘要

The long-term performance diagnosis of traffic monitoring equipment is considerable in intelligent transportation system (ITS). In this work, based on analysis of massive measured traffic data, a novel approach to quantitative performance diagnosis was proposed. Measured traffic data of good stability, the free-flow speeds, were employed as the leading indicator. With a combination of parameter estimation, hypothesis testing and confidence interval analysis, the novel approach carried out successfully quantitative analysis of detected data and performance diagnosis of traffic monitoring equipment. By means of floating observation car, the approach proposed in this work was verified to be effective with historical and real-time data in the traffic monitoring system of Shanghai urban expressway.
