摘要

The combined finite-discrete element method (FEMDEM) was used to analyze the impact responses of automobile glass plates. Both a single glass plate and a laminated glass plate, with fixed boundary and under a lateral impact body at the center, were simulated. The corresponding numerical models were established, in which the discrete element sub-domain was restricted to the area of glass material and the area near to the impact body, while the finite element method was used in other areas (i. e. the PVB layer and the other glass material far away from the impact body). By comparing the results with that calculated by the finite element code LS-DYNA, the accuracy of the present model was proved.
