Distribution of water-soluble phthalocyanine in latex polymer according to small-angle X-ray scattering

摘要

Chemical states of water-soluble C88H42N8Na8O24 2,3,9,10,16,17,23,24-octa[(3,5-biscar-boxy)phenoxy]phthalocyanine (WDP) in aqueous polymer dispersions (latexes) and high-resilience latex polymer are studied with the use of X-ray scattering and diffraction. Diffraction methods reveal the long-range order in WDP and less pronounced order in the WDP-modified polymer; in the original unmodified polymer, there is no order at all. The character of the WDP distribution over the surface of polymer particles is studied. WDP is found to be localized in the form of disc-shaped structures with a thickness of 13-14 nm.
