It is pointed out that it was Frans Maurits Jaeger who was the first scientist to determine the crystal structure of a zeolite. It was the structure of nosean. which has the SOD-type framework. This work was the culmination of his studies of ultramarines. Conventional wisdom has it that Linus Pauling with his crystal structure determination of socialite was first. Alas, this is not the case.
