摘要

The absorption spectra of Pr(III) with dimethylglyoxime (tiding) in absence and presence or Ca(II) and Zn(II) have been studied ill aqueous and aquated organic solvents (i e CH(3)OH, DMF, CH(3)CN and C(4)H(8)O(2)) in equimolar mixtures The variation in energy parameters like Slator-Condon (F(k)), Land spin-orbit coupling constant (xi(4f)), Racali (E(k)), Nephelauxetic ratio (beta), bonding parameter (b(1/2)) and percent covalency (delta) have been calculated The agreement between the observed and calculated values of energy is depicted The observed oscillator strengths for the transition oh (3)H(4) ground state to the excited multiplet hale been discussed The Judd-Ofelt intensity parameters T(lambda) (lambda = 2, 4, 6) for all the complexes were evaluated by applying the Judd-Ofelt theorem to the observed oscillator strengths The values of the intensity parameters are compared and discussed to investigate the sensitivity of the intensity parameters to the ligand environment
