Cesium hydroxide effectively catalyzed the addition of diaryl diselenides to terminal acetylenes in commercial TfIF under N-2 at 25 or 35 degreesC to give exclusively (Z)-1,2-bis(arylseleno)-1-alkenes in high yields.
