摘要

A saponin fraction of Korean red ginseng was irradiated with a proton beam (35.7 MeV) at closes of 0.5 - 10 kGy, and the content change of several ginsenosides was investigated. LC-ESI-MS analysis of the beam-treated fraction showed that the contents of ginsenosides Rb1, Rb2, Rc, Rd or Re, and Rg3 were not appreciably changed at 0.5 - 5 kGy. However, at 10 kGy, Rg3 was nearly undetectable, and Rb1 and Re increased about 6-fold. The peak areas of Rb2 and Rd/Re were also markedly extended at 10 kGy. The Re and the Rd/Re contents were almost the same as they were prior to irradiation, but Re increased much more than Rd/Re at high beam doses.
