摘要

Styrene-butadiene rubber/carbon black masterbatch based on SBR latex and carbon black, also called powdered carbon black filled styrene-butadiene rubber, i.e., P(SBR/CB), is a pre-mixture of SBR latex and carbon black in powdered form with good carbon black dispersion throughout the rubber matrix. In this study, after the characterization of the micro-structure of the filler dispersion in P(SBR/CB), the mastication properties of P(SBR/CB) were observed under a wide circling temperature, rotor speed and masticating time range, using a open mill and a mixing head attached to Brabender Plasticorder. It is found that there are two paralleled process during the masticating of P(SBR/CB), i.e., the destruction of filler network and the rubber-carbon black interaction, and the Mooney viscosity and bound rubber contents could be tuned via the controlling of masticating speed and temperature.
