A novel polymeric silver(I) complex with a 2D brick structure

A sulphur and oxygen alternately bridged polymeric silver (1) complex of S,S'-bis (8-quinolyl)-4-oxa-1,7-dithiaheptane (OETQ), [Ag-3(OETQ)(NO3)(3)](infinity), was prepared and its structure was characterized by X-ray crystallography. The 2D brick topological open network of the complex is extended via Ag ... O interactions. The NO3- anions interact with Ag atoms in versatile forms to control the crystal packing.
