An elegant synthesis of isoxazolyl 1-oxa-6-thia-4,9-diazaspiro[4.4]non-2-en-8-ones and 1,6-dithia-4,9-diazaspiro[4.4]non-7-en-3-ones

A simple and highly efficient one-pot three-component procedure for the synthesis of isoxazolyl 1,3-oxa/thia-2-ylidene-N-aryl amines is described. These compounds have been further subjected to cyclocondensation to afford title compounds.
