Magnetic and magnetocaloric properties of La0.65-xEuxCa0.35MnO3

摘要

Polycrystalline perovskite manganites La0.65-xEuxCa0.35MnO3 (x=0, 0.05, 0.10 and 0.15) were prepared by sol-gel method, and their structure and magnetic properties were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), respectively. The results showed that all obtained perovskite manganites had a single phase with a perovskite structure. With the increasing Eu content, both the unit cell volume and Curie temperature T-C decreased. It was found that the maximum change in magnetic entropy for La0.6Eu0.05Ca0.35MnO3 sample reached 5.778 J kg(-1) K-1 when a magnetic field of 1.5 T was applied.
