A simple method for the synthesis of Mo2N hollow nanospheres with high surface area

摘要

High-speed vibration milling method has been used to synthesize Molybdenum Nitride (Mo2N) with hollow spherical nanostructures which has high surface area (218.5 m(2) g(-1)) by the reaction of MoCl5 and NaNH2 directly. The phase structure and morphology of product are analyzed by powder X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). The thermal stability and surface area of the products are also investigated by Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA) and BET, respectively. Such highly dispersed nitride material is expected to have applications in catalysis because of the large surface area.
